What do I do if I received a Dose Record Gap alert ?

A Dose Record Gap alert can occur for several reasons. Our team will review the alert, and if we determine that a dosimeter needs to be replaced, a support representative will reach out to you directly.

When the system recognizes there is an issue with a dosimeter, it will generate a malfunction alert for that dosimeter. From time to time, you will also receive a Dose Record Gap alert along with the Malfunctioning Alert.

What are the most common causes for a Dose Record Gap alert ?

1. Firmware-related false alert: Dosimeters still running firmware version 2.0.19 or older can generate a false dose gap alert when the WebUI processes a dose record out of sequence. If we confirm this is the cause and the dosimeter is otherwise functioning normally, the alert alone doesn’t indicate that dose collection stopped. The wearer can continue using the device while its firmware update is completed.  For instructions on how to update your dosimeter's Firmware click here.

2. Loss of power: If the dosimeter shuts off, it can’t collect dose during that period. This can occur if a dosimeter Shut's down due to exceeding 45°C (104°F). The dosimeter should come back online once it cools down.

Loss of power can also occur due to a depleted battery or a battery/contact issue that prevents the bias generator from receiving sufficient voltage. The power issue should be resolved and normal operation verified before the wearer relies on the dosimeter again. If the issue persists or a malfunction is reported, a member of our team will reah out for further troubleshooting where we will determine if a replacement is needed.

Loss of power can result from physical damage to the dosimeter, such as a hard drop or storage in a location that isn’t safe and cool. If you think your dosimeter may be affected, our support team is happy to help.

TIP:  We recommend syncing your dosimeter at least once a month to keep it working properly and running the latest firmware.
