NetDose Gateway set up instructions

How It Works :   NetDose Gateway – a BLE 5.0 IoT device designed to collect dose data from dosimeters and communicate it securely to the cloud WebUI for storage, reporting, and device configuration updates

 Ethernet Setup Instructions :

  •  Plug in the gateway to an active Ethernet port using the provided cable

  • Gateway automatically obtains a DHCP IP address

  • Any network providing valid IP + DNS will work

  • Ensure firewall allows outbound TCP 443 to NetDose cloud endpoints

  • Gateway cannot be configured for static IP at this time

 Placement Guidelines

  •  Install gateway within 50 feet of dosimeters for ideal BLE performance
  •  Avoid thick concrete walls, metal barriers, or heavy machinery
  •  Place gateway in central and elevated location

 Online Status Monitoring

  • LED lights also provide visual error or status indicators

 Activating Your Gateway

  1.  Connect the provided Ethernet cable

  2.  Ensure the Ethernet port is active
  3.  Plug in the AC power
  4.  Gateway is now online and operation

 Automatic Read Schedule

Your gateway will automatically wake up and read dosimeters on the scheduled date outlined in your account’s service configuration, listed under “Read Parameters.”

 Installation & Network Resources :

The NetDose Gateway initiates outbound encrypted connections only.

No inbound firewall rules or port forwarding are required.

Ensure the network permits outbound TLS communication using the following ports:

The gateway will communicate with endpoint patterns:

  •  *-ats.iot.us-east-1.amazonaws.com
  •  *.credentials.iot.us-east-1.amazonaws.com
  •  *.s3.amazonaws.com
  •  *.compute-1.amazonaws.com

Additional AWS service endpoints may be used as part of standard AWS IoT and Greengrass operation.

For organizations performing a formal security review, refer to the AWS IoT Greengrass networking documentation:

Network Considerations

Due to different healthcare environment network requirements and implementations, before deployment, verify that:

If outbound access is restricted, ensure the firewall and security team reviews the Network Requirements section before deployment.

 Firewall Recommendations

 Allow required outbound TLS traffic.

If SSL inspection or TLS interception is enabled, exclude NetDose Gateway traffic when permitted by organizational security policies. SSL inspection may interfere with gateway authentication.

 Network Configuration Details

 DHCP

Ethernet gateways are configured for DHCP.

 Verify:

  •  DHCP is available
  •  A valid default gateway is assigned
  •  DNS servers are assigned
  •  Internet connectivity is available.

Static IP addressing is not supported in the deployment workflow and cannot be used.
