How do I remove or 'unassign' a dosimeter from a user?

If you need to change dosimeters or reassign a dosimeter that is already assigned, you will need to unassign it first!

Overview

Unassigning a dosimeter from a user breaks the connection between the user and the device, ending the dose record period when the final dosimeter read is taken with the mobile app.

Only when the dosimeter is in an unassigned state can it be assigned to a user.

The previous user will no longer have their doses recorded until they are assigned a dosimeter, and a new dose record start date begins.

Here is a quick video showing how to assign dosimeters. Below it is a more detailed guide.

Unassigning a Dosimeter

There are three ways to unassign a dosimeter from a user:

  1. From the Devices page.
  2. From the Users page, you can unassign a specific dosimeter from the user profile.
  3. From the Users page, you can change a user's status to inactive.

CAUTION: Unassigning a dosimeter always requires a device synchronization with the mobile app to complete the action.  Any doses measured by the dosimeter while at a 'pending unassignment' status will still be associated with the user.  The dose record does not stop until the time of the final read during synchronization and the 'pending unassignment' status changes to 'unassigned'.

Using the Devices page

  1. Click on the Devices tab on the navigation menu on the left side of the screen.
  2. In the central window, click on the specific device you wish to unassign.  An expanded window will open on the right side of the screen.

Deactivating a User

Setting a user's status to 'inactive' will set all assigned dosimeters to 'pending unassignment.' Note that this will also disable the user's NetDose access.   Please click here for more information regarding the change of user status.
